Keen on castles?
If you intend to visit lots of castles in Scotland and the rest of the UK then consider to join any of the following two organisations that look after historic buildings and natural sites. One year membership is discounted for students.  Access to the Scottish sites/buildings and those of the sister organisations in England, Wales & Northern Ireland is free.  You normally get a return on your investment after just 4 visits.

Food / Groceries Shopping
From experience TESCO tends to be the cheapest of the big supermarkets in Stirling. Note that supermarkets tend to place the cheaper products on the lower shelf, where they are harder to spot.
Don't like carrying your shopping back to university? Why not have the shopping for your whole flat delivered to your door using their home delivery service?

There is now also a German ALDI supermarket in Kerse Road, which sells groceries at discounted prices. Well worth checking out - you can save up to 30% on your shopping.

Another German supermarket chain called LIDL is equally cheap, sells a lot of continental food and has shops in Alloa, Falkirk and Perth (unfortunately not in Stirling). You can reach the Alloa shop easily from Stirling using bus no. 62/63 (Orange Line) from the University.
